Location: Belsize Park, London
Size: 110m2
Status: 2020 Completed

Here in this quiet cobble-stoned mews Bellis | Architects have converted the ground floor of what was originally built as a stable in the 1890s and latterly used as a car mechanics workshop, into a self-contained two bedroom annex to the existing residential property on the floors above. The space has gone through a complete transformation with lightwells created to each of the two bedrooms to bring natural light deep into the plan. The new replacement timber doors to the mews are sympathetic to the original use, with a new glazed entrance screen behind creating a recessed amenity space leading out to the mews.
